SUMMARY:Club Lunchtime Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The speaker at this week’s meeting will be Michael Jackson of the British Post Polio Fellowship\, who will talk about Poliomyelitis\, particularly relating to hydrotherapy treatment. \nThe British Post Polio Fellowship is the largest UK Charity dedicated to supporting tens of thousands of people who survived the Polio Epidemics of the first half of the 20th Century. We are sure that many will remember those polio epidemics !! \nThere are an estimated 120\,000 people living with Post Polio Syndrome which can cause people to develop severe muscle weakness and pain\, swallowing and breathing problems as well as increasing fatigue. \nMike Jackson is the Welfare Officer for the Northamptonshire Branch of the PPS Fellowship. He is an ex Polio sufferer\, so is very well experienced in the problems encountered. \n
