SUMMARY:Warwick Town Bonfire
DESCRIPTION:Remember\, remember the 2nd of November\, gunpowder\, treason\, and plots…and Bonfires!\nCllr Bob Dhillon\, Mayor of Warwick\, recently visited Newburgh Primary School on Friday to judge the Guys made by children from a mixed group years 1-6\, and was told about Guy Fawkes’ plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament. \nThe Mayor was so impressed with both the Guys he awarded a “tie”\, and the prize of £100 donated by the Tuckery of Warwick will be used by the school for books for the library. \nBoth the Guys will both be placed on the Warwick Bonfire to be lit by the Mayor on Nov 2nd at 6.30 at Warwick racecourse. Gates open at 5pm and there is plenty to do before the bonfire and firework show starts. \nOrganisers are expecting a good crowd and there is free parking at the racecourse\, and several food outlets with hot food\, hot punch and candy floss\, as well as a bouncy castle for the children. \nTickets can be purchased ; in Warwick from Torrys in West Street; the main Post Office; Claridges; Cabin News; Mellors; Warwick vacuum shop; and the Tourist Information Centres in Warwick and Leamington; as well as Woodloes Post Office; and The Coffee Lounge at Chase Meadows. Details of the arrangements can be found on-line through the website www.warwicktownbonfire.org.uk; \nAdvance tickets – Adults and children 12 and over – £4; accompanying  children under 12 free; On the gate adults and children 12 and over  £5; children under 12 £1; infants under 2yrs old free so it’s worth buying early. \nThe event is organised by Rotary Club of Warwick\, and Warwick Lions and raised over £15\,000 last year for local charities and good causes. \nSponsorship has been provided by Leamington Mazda who will be displaying cars at the racecourse\, and Warringtons\, and pallets for the bonfire are being provided by Unipart. \n \nThe ‘Guys’ and the Mayor are ready\,\nthanks to the children from Newburgh School\n  \n  \n
