Youth Speaks

February 6, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

The first round of the 2020 Rotary ‘Youth Speaks’ National competition takes place at Northgate Methodist Church, Warwick, for schools within the Warwick & Leamington Area, on Thursday, 6th February at 6.30pm.

There are two age groups – Intermediate and Senior – and there will be four teams in each group who will each debate for 15 minutes on a subject of their choice.   This is a wonderful opportunity  for young people to develop their presentation skills before an audience and the standard of speaking is always very high.

The subjects chosen can be very varied and among those chosen this year are:

‘Single Species Conservation’

‘Should Mobile Phones be Allowed in School?’

‘Positive Discrimination is Never Justified’

‘Your Holiday Does More Harm than Good’

‘Globalisation is Necessary for a Thriving Economy’

The public are invited to come along to listen to these talented young people and entry is free of charge.   Should you arrive while a presentation is taking place you will be asked to wait until that particular one is over before entering.
