Christmas is almost upon us and it is time to bring out the Christmas hats, put on a big smile, and loosen up the vocal chords to join in the celebrations. Together with our friendly staff at the Hilton Hotel we enjoy a seasonal lunch, followed by carol singing and recitations. Ho, ho, ho! Let the party begin

For the first Club Meeting of 2019 it is very appropriate that we welcome one of the younger generation to talk about her ideals. Emily Philips has been given help with a Travel Scholarship by the club to enable her to work in Africa, and today she will talk about her experiences to date and her aims for the future.

Today's speaker is Sue Harrison, who is an Ultra Distance runner Since joining Leamington Cycling & Athletics Club in 1986 she has run well over 50,000 miles in training and racing (which equates to more than twice around the world). Starting out as an 800m, 1500m and cross-country runner she progressed up the distances over the years and moved more towards road running, eventually running her first marathon in 2001.
