Jul6 - “Kids Out” take over Drayton Manor Park

40 Warwick youngsters joined over 5,000 children who took over Drayton Manor Theme Park, on Wednesday June 12th as part of national “Kids Out” day, organised by the Rotary Club of Warwick, and other Midlands clubs.

Professor David Smith, Rotary Club President, and Warwick Mayor Cllr Neale Murphy were at the Homebase store, Emscote Road, Warwick, early on Wednesday morning to greet the children, parents and teachers, and excitement mounted as the coach prepared to set off.

Every year Rotary and the charity “Kids Out” organise a day of fun and happiness for disabled and under-privileged children. Drayton Manor proves a hit and the park was closed to the public for the Rotary event, as thousands of children and carers had the time of their lives.

The rain held off and the park was soon full of the screams of children having fun, with the older and braver kids on the bigger rides such as G Force and Maelstrom. Younger children found plenty to do in the park’s Thomas Land™ attraction, and all agreed they’d had a great day.

Rotarian Margaret Morley who accompanied the children said it was great that the club continues to send children on a day out, which is funded by events such as the Bonfire, Thai Festival and annual Carols at the Castle.
