Rotary Club Of Warwick

Oct15 - RIP Roy Fenner

We are sad to report the “Passing to Higher Service” yesterday of Honorary Member Roy Fenner.
At the age of 97 he had been in poor health for some time, and had moved to be near family in Darlington several years ago. He stayed in touch with our club, but joined Darlington Rotary Club.
Roy initially joined Rotary in 1971 and after 6 years left to work in USA returning in 1990.
He would have been a Rotarian 55 years next month – an extraordinary acheivement.
Roy served as Club President 1993/4, was made a Paul Harris Fellow in 2003 and also served as Assistant District Governor. He was supportive of women in Rotary and was a good friend.
Roy chaired International Committee for many years, supporting Hope and Homes and Mercy ships, and in 2022 he brought Darlington members to an International evening to talk about a school in Kenya which they were supporting.
He remained in contact with David Smith who reports his passing.
RIP Roy.
