Julie Robinson from Citizens Advice South Warwickshire told us about helping local people to deal with issues confronting them. Since Covid they have moved to improve on-line access and their telephone service so people with problems can find help without leaving home.
The team of paid staff and volunteers across South Warwickshire handled over 8,500 calls for help last year. CA is reliant on grants from local authorities and other charities and works from drop in centres in town centres / community centres / phone service and home visits as required. Advice can also be found on their website so you can help yourself too.
Over the years problems of relationships / employment / housing and debts continue, and work as a volunteer can be challenging but rewarding. Julie discovered they had been set up by Rotary in Warwick & Leamington and was given a cheque for their hardship fund.
