Rotary Club Of Warwick

Jun27 - Dick Dixon hands over to Jon Wassall

President Dick Dixon has handed over the presidency of the club to Jon Wassall for the next 12 months.

Dick said he had enjoyed meeting so many different people around Warwick, young and old at a variety of events, and he was pleased the club had managed to raise over £40,000. He was able to make donations of £1,500 to each of his charities for the year – Graham Fulford Charitable Trust and Evelyn’s Gift, and thanked everyone for their support.

Jon Wassall has been a member of Rotary for 15 years and this is his 2nd term as President at Warwick. He noted how the club is smaller now and his priority is to encourage more people to get involved. Jon works for the King Henry VIII Foundation in town, this year the club reaches it’s 60th anniversary – its founders were all from businesses based in the town and he would like to encourage anyone with some spare time to consider getting involved.

Jon has chosen PHAB as one of his charities – PHAB clubs  inspire and support disabled and non-disabled children, young people and adults to make more of life together – breaking down community barriers, reducing social isolation, and creating opportunities for all involved to enjoy the same activities and challenges side by side; and Warwickshire Young Carers which supports youngsters who care for siblings or parents; we are helping send some for a day out at the Castle this summer.
