Rotary Club of Warwick welcomed Cllr Michael Doody, Chair of Warwick District Council, Cllr Mrs Mandy Littlejohn, Mayor of Warwick, Derek Maudlin, Town Clerk, accompanied by Jane Topham, to their meeting on November 11th for the annual Civic Lunch.

Cllr Littlejohn told the club how much she valued the work of volunteers in running activities such as last week’s Bonfire, Carols at the Castle and the Thai festival, which gave the community part of its character, and for their support in raising funds for local charities. This was echoed by Cllr Doody who had some interesting anecdotes about his life as a Councillor.

Derek Maudlin introduced Jane Topham who will be taking over from him as Town Clerk at the end of the year. The Club thanked him for his many years of service to Warwick, and for his help with club events, and warned Jane they would be in touch.

President Jon Wassall thanked the guests for their work on behalf of the town, and wished them well for the reminder of their busy year in office.
