Apr23 - Warksar-Lowland Rescue

Ian Malins, Chair of Warwickshire Search & Rescue, told members how they have grown over the last 10 years – with drones, dogs, rescue boats and 4 wheel drives to support their 40 trained volunteers find Missing Persons when asked by the authorities.

WARKSAR is now a vital emergency service called out by Police, Fire or local authorities for support when people are in danger. They are called out over once a week to find people who have dementia, children or those feeling despondent or suicidal, or active when areas are affected by flooding and adverse conditions.

Warwickshire SAR covers the Warwickshire and Coventry areas. They have been fully accredited since 2017 and are winning awards for their achievements. The charity needs over £15,000 each year to provide equipment, insurance, and training. All volunteers are unpaid and need a full set of kit costing over £400, all teams carry first aid and defibrillators.
