Alan Hughes from Warwick Young Football Club told Rotarians about the club which is one of President Rachels causes this year. He last spoke to us in December 2024 following which we gave them money for kit.
Alan talked enthusiastically about the youngsters of all ages from under 8’s to 18’s who just love to play football, and come together to have fun, and make friends.
The club has 265 players making up 20 teams and 5 all girl teams, but they have no ground of their own, playing at Aylesford, Myton, Warwick Sports Club and Warwickshire CC Sports ground. There are 40 voluntary coaches and they have to fundraise for kit, and pitch fees.
Wayne emphasised how vital it is that kids play sports for their physical and mental well being and this was such a great local cause. They are joining us to support our bucket collection next week at the racecourse.
Rachel was enthusiastic about the help we can give them and wished them well.
